Our Mission.
At Playlists for a Change, we aim to empower teens and minority groups by providing a platform where individuals can express their passions, share their stories, advocate for causes, and inspire meaningful change through the creation of playlists. Through our playlists, we strive to ensure that all teens have a platform that celebrates diversity, welcoming people of all backgrounds to share their diverse perspectives and experiences. Join us as we harness the power of music to create a world every playlist sparks conversation, and every voice makes an impact.
How does this work?
We’re looking for teens who want to curate playlists that tell stories and raise awareness for causes close to their hearts. Teens will craft playlists on Spotify, each one reflecting personal narratives and advocating for specific causes. In addition to playlist creation, teens can write articles delving into the motivations behind their song selections and the stories they aim to convey. Through this platform, we aim to amplify diverse voices, celebrate personal experiences, and inspire meaningful change through the art of music and storytelling.

1. Interview Series
To amplify diverse voices, we've launched an interview series where we share the stories of others on our blog. Each interviewer also curates a playlist featuring songs that resonate with their journey and the causes they care about. Have a story to share? We'd love to interview you! 2. Black Out Poetry Series
Want to creatively share your unique stories or raise awareness for causes you're passionate about? Create poetry using song titles, where each title tells a story or forms a short poem. Blackout poetry involves crafting short poems from existing text—whether it's a book, article, or even a text message. We're applying this concept to playlists, and anyone can make one!
